Intra-industry Trade (IIT) of Agricultural Products and Agricultural Development

The purposes of this study are to analyze the agro-forest-livestock trade for the period of 1993-2003, to identify the intra-industry trade(IIT), horizontal IIT(HIIT) and vertical IIT(VIIT) between Korea and the world, and to suggest the development strategies of agricultural trade. A total of 62 product groups were analyzed, and it was found out that about 32% of agro-forest-livestock trade in terms of trade value was transacted by IIT. And almost all of these IIT were transacted by HIIT rather than VIIT.
