Total of 500 seeds produced from crossing between "IG9319" and "IG93102" were sown in vitro in 1994. Successfully germinated 209 seedlings grafted onto Hylocereus trigonus in vitro were cultured. After 180 days, those were acclimatized in glasshouse. In 1996, 7 lines were preliminary selected by their performance such as globe and tubercle color, shape, rib and spine characteristics, and growth vigor.
