A 20-month-old male Sprague Dawley rat showed a subcutaneous greyish-white mass extending from neck to thoracic area. The rat had been sacrificed because of its poor general condition. Histologically, the mass was characterized by fusiform spindle cells producing various amounts of interlacing bundles of collagen. The cells formed a characteristic herringbone pattern and mitotic figures were frequent. Also, the tumor cells were observed in the near muscle cells as the infiltrating pattern.
