Monitoring of Exotic Weeds on Upland Fields of Chungcheong Region in Korea

The distribution of exotic weed species in the agricultural lands of Chungcheong region, Korea was surveyed to provide on effective information of weed management. In the surveyed sites, 38 exotic weed species of 16 families were found in the upland fields and the fruit farms. The exotic weeds were mainly identified as Erigeron annuus, Conyza canadensis and Chenopodium album var. album in the upland fields and Amaranthus lividus, Chenopodium album var. album and Erigeron annuus in the fruit farms. In Chungbuk province, the exotic weed species were found in 26 and 13 species in the upland fields and the fruit farms, respectively. The most dominant exotic weeds were Erigeron annuus, Chenopodium album var. album, Amaranthus lividus and Conyza canadensis in the upland fields and Chenopodium album var. album, Amaranthus lividus, Taraxacum officinale and Rumex crispus in the fruit farms. In Chungnam province, the exotic weed species were found in 28 and 22 species in the upland fields and the fruit farms, respectively. The most dominant exotic weeds were Erigeron annuus, Conyza canadensis, Chenopodium album var. album and Amaranthus lividus in the upland fields and Amaranthus lividus, Conyza canadensis, Chenopodium album var. album and Erigeron annuus in the fruit farms.
