Four semi-dwarf varieties wx817, wx185, Taebaegbyeo, Manseogbyeo which had similar genetic background and plant type were used to make all possible combinations for single, double, three way and backcrosses. These combinations were used to estimate genetic parameters. The types of crossing were compared with each other on the basis of comparing those parameters to find the suitable crossing type in rice breeding. The progeny mean of all the crosses used indicated earlier heading, longer culm length, shorter panicle length in comparison with the mean of their parents. The progeny means was also higher for fertility ratio, number of particle per hill, 1,000 grains weight, yield and shattering but lower for number of grains per panicle, grain length and length-width ratio of grain
