1985
Padmavathamma, K. | Azam, K. (College of Agriculture, Hyderabad (India). Dept. of Entomology)
Life history of Tribolium castaneum Herbst was studied under relative humidities of 100, 81, 61, 42, 34 and 21% and under laboratory conditions. The pre-oviposition period was sensitive to relative humidities and more number of eggs were laid at higher humidities. The incubation period, duration of different larval instars and pupal stage were shorter under conditions of higher humidities. Life cycle was completed in 44-45 days at 100% relative humidity as compared to 104-110 days at 34%. At 21% relative humidity, the adults died within two days of introduction
