Wide variability was observed as regards the time of flowering ranging from second week of February to third week of March. All the selection were found to self-incompatible. Fruit-set through open pollination varied from 3.64 (JKS-38) to 18.7% (JKS-65). Fruit-set by cross-pollination varied from 2.04 (JKS-55 XJKS-39) to 45% (JKS-57 X JKS-65).
