Efficacy of certain granular insecticides for controlling rice gall midge Orseolia oryzae (Wood-Mason) Mani

The efficacy of thirteen granular insecticides was evaluated against rice gall midge, Orseolia oryzae (Wood-Mason). Isofenfos (1.5 and 1.0 kg A.I/ha), Mocap (1.5 kg A.I/ha), Disulfoton (1.5 and 1.0 kg A.I/ha), Terbufos (1.0 and 0.5 kg A.I/ha), Carbofuran (1.0 kg A.I/ha) and Phorate (1 kg A.I/ha) gave effective control of gall midge leading to significantly higher yields over control. Two applications, 10 and 25 days after planting were effective for the pest control
