Hepatopathology in experimental aflatoxicosis in chickens

Hepatic lesions were observed in chickens in experimental aflatoxicosis by using 6.25 and 3.12 ppm of aflatoxin in feed. High mortality was observed within 3 weeks in chicks which received 6.2 ppm of aflatoxin. Pale yellow livers wtih haemorrhages and haematomas, and nodules of the liver were the important gross lesions. Lipidiosis, sinusoidal congestion, paravascular heamorrhages, bile-duct hyperplasia, phlebitis and veno-occlusive lesions were the important histological changes observed
