Variety and fertilizer management in flood prone and water-logged areas for higher rice production - a case study

The crop fertilized with N alone in P deficient soils of flood prone area did not improve the grain yield appreciably. But application of 40 kg each of P205 and K20/ha in addition to 65 kg N increased the grain yield 1 1/2 to 2 times to that of N applied alone. Basal application of N, either urea broadcast incorporation or behind plough found to be effective in increasing grain yield than that of split application
