Serum amylase (EC.3.2.1.1) activity and some factors influencing the enzyme in crossbred cattle
1986
Majumder, A. | Mazumder, N.K. (Indian Veterinary Research Inst., Izatnagar (India))
The serum amylase activity was estimated in 293 halfbred cattle of 3 different crossbreds between Bos taurus and Bos indicus by a saccharogenic method using soluble starch as the substrate. The mean amylase activity in F x H, J x H, and BS x H half-breds were 295.40 +-5.72, 298.70 +- 7.44 and 309.00 +- 5.57 Somogyi units/100 ml serum respectively. Both breed (P0.05) and season (P0.01) had significant effect on the enzyme activity, but age and sex did not have any statistically significant effect on the same
