The impact of irrigation augmentation on different types of synthetic farms in the cotton belt of Punjab, water scarce area, on cropping patterns, input use and returns to fixed farm resources has been studied. Gross returns to fixed farm resources would record remarkable increase on shifting to the normative levels envisaged with reallocation of resources with existing irrigation and its levels augmented by 25, 40 and 50% respectively
