Investigations were carried out to detect the changes in phenolics and oxidizing enzymes in soybean cultivars resistant and susceptible to Colletotrichum truncatum causing anthracnose and pod blight disease. Both total and ortho-dihydroxy phenolics contents were more in the resistant cultivar, JS 89-37 compared to the susceptible cultivar Co. 2. The activity of peroxidase were higher in the resistant cultivar than in the susceptible ones and on inoculation the activity increased as compared to healthy. The polyphenoloxidase activity in both susceptible and resistant cultivars were at par.
