Field experiments were conducted to study the bio-efficacy of new insecticide thiamethoxam (Actara 25 WG) in comparison to conventional insecticides against hopper,' Amritodus atkinsoni Lethierry infesting mango c.v Langado. at Horticultural Research Farm of Bansilal Amrutiai College of Agriculture, Anand during 1999 and 2000. Two sprays of thiamethoxam @ .50 g a.i./ha or carbaryl 0.2 during flowering on mango c.v. Langado at an interval of 15 days effectively prevented the population build up of hopper
