Growth parameters of Lycopersicon genotypes varying in susceptibility to early blight

Studies on relationship between growth parameters and reaction to early blight (Alternario solani) in tomato genotypes showed that plant height and number of leaves had no correlation with the disease reaCtIon. However, total root and shoot dry weight increase in resistant genotypes was significantly higher in comparison to highly susceptible genotypes. The highly resistant genotypes being wild type were poor yielder, while resistant cultivated genotypes gave much higher yield as compared to highly susceptible genotype HS-1Ol.
