Heterosis studies in cauliflower in relation to line x tester crossing system

Twelve female lines and three testers were crossed in the line x tester fashion to obtain 36 hybrids. They were studied to investigate the extent of heterosis for curd compactness. Appreciable heterosis was recorded over better parent and standard check (Punjab Giant-26). The cross D-2 x PG-35 was recorded the best for curd compactness over standard check and could be explained for commercial cultivation.
