Bhagwan Mahavir National Park is the only national park in Goa in West India. People living in the vicinity have harmonious relationships with the national park, which is evident from the direct and indirect dependence of people on the park and their urge to protect the forests. Their culture and traditions have enabled them to protect the ecological endowments. This communication discusses these mutualistic relationships between the people and the antinational park.
