The agro processing units consist of economically viable equipments. These units are profitable ventures at capacities not lesser than 10, 25, 30, 50, 100 and 100 kg/h for milling of spices, dehydration of vegetables, oil, dhal, wheat and rice milling, respectively. The minimum capacity for economically viable soybean processing unit is 20 litres/h. The agro processing can play a vital role in not only preventing post harvest losses but can also help in providing employment and income to rural youth. Strong forward and backward linkages need to be established to procure raw materials and sell processed products. Agro processing not only generates income but also triggers development process in terms of improved agricultural practices for sustainability and livelihood and food security
