Fusarial wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum was observed in groundnut for the first time in Meghalaya, India during 1995-96. The root inoculation method was the most efficient way for screening against wilt when compared with the seed and stem inoculation methods. The visible symptoms of the disease appeared on the 10th day after inoculation and 100% infection was observed with the 1 X 106 conidia/ml inoculum level.
