unknown. Therapon jarbua - the tiger perch is a commercially important fish, occuringabundantly in the coastal waters of east coast of India. Comparative studies onthe distribution, food and feeding habits of this fish from the polluted coastalwaters close to Visakha harbour and the relatively unpolluted Anthervedi estuarinewaters near Narsapur, situated at a distance of 250km from Visakha,have been conducted. Marked differences in the food habits of the fish in thetwo habitats have been evidenced.
