This study was under taken to ascertain the relationship between the body weight, age and scrotal circumference for making the selection of Murrah buffalo breeding bulls. Scrotal circumferences of 437 males of age group between 1 to 7 years were measured and body weights of 309 males out of 437 were recorded coincided the scrotal circumference measurement; body weights of theses males varied between 100 to 700 kg. Regression analysis of age and size of scrotal circumference of males showed highly significant positive correlation and the curve (SC=14.1+0.32 × age) was obtained with determination coefficient of R2 =0.70. The regression analysis of body weight and size of scrotal circumference of males showed very high correlation with curve (SC=11.0+0.03 × body weight) was obtained with determination coefficient of R2 =0.90. Scrotal circumference showed a higher correlation (R2 =0.90) with body weight than the age (R2 =0.70) of males. Minimum size of scrotal circumference at different age and body weight was also calculated for reference in selection of buffalo males for breeding purpose. Therefore, it is concluded that selection of a Murrah buffalo bull can be made for breeding purpose by taking into reference the size of scrotal circumference at different age and body weight.
