Date bunch fading disorder has been the most important problem of date growers in Kerman, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Fars and Sistan and Beluchistan Provinces in recent years. It often, has been observed on commercial and prevailing cultivars of these regions. The weather fluctuations specially sudden drop of air humidity joint with high temperature and blowing hot and dry winds during fruit changing from Khalal to Rotab stage have had significant influence on incidence and development of this disorder. Regulation of heat and humidity conditions in date plantation has positive effects on decreasing of disorders damage. In this study, the effects of intercropping on the disorder were studied as Randomized complete blocks design with 3 treatments (alfaalfa, sorghum and control) and 8 replication on Mozafti cultivar in Jiroft and Kabkab cultivar in Bushehr during 2001-2002. The experimental data of two years were combined analyzed and the means of the treatments were compared using Duncan test. The results showed that, intercropping treatments have significant difference with control in two regions. The mean of damage percent on Kabkab in sorghum (class A),alfaalfa (class A) and control (class B) were 11.06, 11.43 and 31.62 percent, respectively. The mean of damage percent on Mozafti in sorghum (class A), alfaalfa (class B) and control (class C) were 16, 25 and 95 percent, respectively. In conclusion, intercropping with alfaalfa and sorghum in date plantations is recommended for decreasing the disorder damage in regions with enough water.
