A study on the some specials of biological javelin grunter (Pomadasys Kaakan), tigertooth croaker (Otolithes ruber) and spotted croaker (Protonibea diacanthus) in Hormozgan waters

Aspects of the biological features such as age and growth , the reproductive cycle , food and feeding of the tigertooth croaker (Otolithes ruber) and the Javelin grunter (Pomadasys kaakan) were studied from a total of 540 specimens of tigertooth croaker and 477 Javelin grunter collected in Hormuzgan waters between September 1381 and desember 1382 . Fishes aged using sections of their otoliths . The equation of growth for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter obtained Lt = 72(1-e -0/151(t+1/369) ) and Lt = 69(1-e -0/162(t+1/169) ) respectively. Weight-length relationships for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter were W = 0/0064L 3/1268 and W =0/0293L 2/7957 respectively. Maximum length-growth rate for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter were in 3 and 2 years old and their mortality rates were estimated 0/4606 and 0/3216 respectively. Lm50 and Tm50 for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter were 33/7cm, 2/75 years and 44cm , 5/1 years respectively. Sex ratio(femail : male) for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter were 1/76:1 and 1/065:1 respectively. maximum absolute and relative fecundity for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter were 1128401 , 1761092 and 943/7 , 2229/46 respectively. Diameter of ovol for tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter were 350 and 445 micron respectively. Spawning seasons both tigertooth croaker and Javelin grunter obtained between May and June . Main food for tigertooth croaker were fish and shrimp and for Javelin grunter was crustacian specially crab.
