The Family Tephritidae (= Trypetidae, Trupaneidae, Euribiidae), also known as fruit-flies, is one of the largest families of acalyptrate Diptera with over 4300 species known worldwide. Fruit-flies, usually, have prominently patterned wings. Although most species are phytophagous and have economic importance, because of significant damage they may cause in fruit plantations. some species are effectively used in biological control programs against weeds. The examined materials deposited at HMIM of IRIPP, which have been collected from different parts of Iran during the past 40 years. This checklist includes 3 subfamilies, 8 tribes, 24 genera and 50 species along with their locality data, collectors (Leg.) and date of collection.
