This study was carried out in 1989 and 1990 in Kalam valley (Swat). The objective behind the study was to determine the best planting dates for potato depending upon seed sources. Two seed sources (hill seed and plain seed) were planted at end of April, end of May, end of June and end of July. The maximum yield i.e. 46.60 t/ha. For late sowing (end of July) plain seed were found better than hill seed. A negative correlation with yield was found as the date of planting delayed.
