Rice IR6 was transplanted during 1987 on a prepared dry bed on farmer fields. Six fertilizer treatments in addition to control were given in two sets. In the first set, N-P (173-99 kg/ha) were applied as basal dose. While K ((at the rate of 62 kg/ha) was supplemented to NP in the second set. Other treatments were Zn, Fe, Cu, Mn and B (at the rate of 3.7, 4.9, 3.7, 4.9 and l.9 kg/ha, respectively). The treatments had no effect on P and K contents.
