Sublethal concentrations of cadmium chloride were given to fresh, water farmed fish, Labeo rohita, and its-effects were studied on serumenzymes, Alanine Aminotransferase (ALAT), Aspartate Aminotransferase(AST) and Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP). For this purpose, experiment wasrun in two phases. Fur Acute phase, four groups were made, namely A,B, C, and D. Among these groups Group A was kept as control whileremaining groups were exposed to 60 mg/l, 70m g/l and 80 mg/I ofcadmium chloride respectively. In chronic phase, six groups were madenamely, E, F, G, H, I, and J. Group E served as control while rest ofthem were exposed to 35 mg/I of cadmium chloride for 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16days respectively. As a result there was an increase in the levels ofALAT, AST and ALP.
