On exploring fish fauna of river Siran from Dadar to Khalabat Pocketof Tarbela reservoir, a total of 1073 fish specimens were collected whichhave been identified into 21 species belonging to 16 genera, 6 families, 4orders, 2 super orders of cohort Euteleostei. The most found species inthe river Siran are Aspidoparia morar, Barilius modestus, Bariliuspakistanicus, Barlius vagra and Crossocheilus diplochilus that serve assource of food for Tor macrolepis, the most important commercial fish.Another fish of economic importance in the river Siran is Schizothoraxplagiostomus.
