The study of water pollution and its effects on human health in rural area of district Faisalabad [Pakistan]

The main objective of the study is to explore the awareness about water pollution and its effects on human health. The specific objectives are to look into the sources of drinking water available to the people and their water treatment policies, to examine the awareness of the respondents about water pollution, to check the ill effects of water pollution on human healthy and suggest some measure for the control of water pollution. Main Findings of Survey of Chak No.200 R/B shows that about 49.4 percent of the respondents belonged to age category of less than 30 years, majority were females and (26.6%) were illiterate, majority of the respondents (53.4%) were married, sixty eight percent of the respondents had joint families, about frothy four percent of the respondents, monthly income was 3000-5000, 94.6% had a pracca houses, 93.3% had owned houses, a number of the respondents (40%) had the 3-4 rooms in their houses, severity five of the respondents (100%) had a corporation water supply for drinking purpose, 77.4% had a sweet taste of drinking water, 81.4% were not satisfied with the quality of water, 90.6% were knew that poor quality of water can harm our health, 88% were not use any kind of water treatment before using, 90.6% knew that poor quality water were expanding diseases, sixty four percent of the respondents had a diseases caused by drinking water, 16% of the respondents had a diarrhea, disease, 91.6% had diseases caused by drinking water had no treatment while 33.4% who had diseases caused by drinking water had got treatment from Hakim, 64 % had safe pipe line of water. A majority the respondents 81.4% had drainage system, 62.6% had awareness about water pollution, 26.6 had a sand mixing water pollution in their drinking water, 80% were thinking that there is need of creating awareness about water pollution, about (37.4%) of the respondents cleaned their water tank and (56%) did not using any method to reduce pollution, 77.4% said that Govt. did not take any action to improve the quality of water, 64% said that Pakistan have to face the problem of water pollution, 62.6% said that govt. is no giving any information about water pollution, 37.3% suggested that for reducing water pollution people should boil water before using/drinking. Main Findings of Survey of Chak No. 226 R/B shows that about forty four percent of the respondents belonged to the age category less than 30 years, 57.4% belonged to women and 33.4% were illiterate, 56% were married and 65.4% had a joint family, 50.7% had a family monthly income was 3000, ninety-two of the respondents had a pacca houses and 96% had owned houses, a 40% had the 1-2 rooms in their houses, 73.4% had a electric pump that they are using for drinking purpose, 74.6% had a brackish taste of drinking water, 89.4% were not satisfied with quality of water, 85.4% said that poor quality can harm our health, 94.6% were not using any water treatment before usin g/drinking, 85.4% know that poor quality water can harm our health, 76% had a diseases caused by drinking water, 28% had kidney problem, 94.7% who had diseases caused by drinking had got treatment, 50.8% had got treatment from Govt. hospital who had disease caused of drinking water, ninety-two percent of the respondents had a safe pipe line of water, 89.4% were want to improve the quality of water, 69.4% had awareness about water pollution, sixty four percent of the respondents had saltish water, 82.6% said that there is need of creating awareness among people, sixty four percent, of the respondents were not using any method for reduce pollution, 84.4% were thank that govt. is not taking any action for reduce pollution, 65.4 % of the respondents were know that Pakistan have to face the problem of water pollution, 76% were say that govt. is not give any information about water pollution, 90.6% were say that they are not giving any information to their family members about wat er pollution, 34.6% were say that govt. should try to improve the quality of water.
