Out of 64 cotton varieties, pattern of disease development was strikingly faster on S-12 showing maximum at under disease progressive curve (AUDPC) during 1999-2000 compared to other classes to Cotton leaf curl vir (CLCuV). Maximum whitefly adults/nymphs were observed on CIM-240 in 1999 and on S-12 in 2000. Five units of AUDPC represent the difference in varieties for their susceptibility and resistance.
