An experiment was conducted at National Tea Research Institute, Shinkiari, Mansehra during March 2003 to study the effect of intercropping on yield and growth of tea and potato as affected by aluminium and diaammonium sulphate. The experiment was laid out in RCB design. Potato variety included in the experiment was Desiree and tea variety was Qi-Men. Different levels of aluminium sulphate and DAP significantly affected number of stems/potato plant, number of leaves/potato plant, potato plant canopy, potato plant height (cm), potato yield (tons/ha), number of branches/tea plant, tea height (cm), tea yield (tons/ha). Maximum number of potato branches (4.852), maximum number of potato leaves (134.4), maximum potato pant canopy (18.00%), maximum potato yield (7.688 tons/ha), maximum tea yield (0.406 tons/ha) were recorded when AI2(SO4)3 and DAP each were applied at the rate of 220 and 440 gm/2m2. Maximum number of stems (2.578) were noted when AI2(SO4)3 and DAP each were applied at the rate of 140 and 280 gm/2m2. Tallest potato plants (26.10 cm) were obtained when AI2(SO4)3 and DAP each were applied at the rate of 200 and 400 gm/2m2. More number of tea branches (53.75), (54.19), (54.13) were recorded when AI2(SO4)3 and DAP each were applied at the rate of 220 and 440 gm/2m2, 180 and 360 gm/2m2 and 20 and 40 gm/2m2. Tallest tea plants (61.22 cm) and (61.11 cm) were obtained when AI2(SO4)3 and DAP each were applied at the rate of 100 and 200 gm/2, 20 and 40 gm/2m2. Maximum tea yield (0.406 tons/ha) and (0.419 tons/ha) were noted when AI2(SO4)3 and DAP each were applied at the rate of 220 and 440 gm/2m2 and 180 and 360 gm/2m2.
