A survey for monitoring the incidence of root-knot nematode infestation on sugarcane planted in production area of Shakerganj Sugar Mills Private Limited, Jhang was conducted during growing season of 2008-09. Ten sugarcane farms located at Basti Ghazi Shah, Pakkywala, Madduki, Aliabad, and CH.No.462 were selected for nematode study. Five fields (each field of one acre) at each farm were randomly marked for nematode sampling. Ten samples, each sample comprising of 20 cores per acre, of roots and rhizosphere soil were collected from each farm. Nematode parameters including root and soil J2 population, numbers of root galling and egg-masses, gall and egg-masses indices were recorded. Highest incidence (74%) of root knot nematode was observed on farm of CH. No. 462 and lowest (11%) of Madduki. The number of root galls, egg masses, galls and eggs masses indices and J2 populations were variable among the farms.
