Electricity acts like a fuel which moves engine of society to higher development. Organizations are created to generate, transmit and distribute energy to consumers. This research reveals that the prevailing situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is pathetic. The only organization Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) working in he province is enduring losses affecting its productivity badly. The objective of the research is to find out the causes which availability of are affecting performance of the organization and suggest some practical recommendation to improve the situation. Different internal factors relating to the performance of organization were studied in addition to its technical performance. It was found that internally members of the organization as whole are not satisfied with different aspects of the organization such as promotion, its policies and political interference. Organization is also performing poorly mostly because of lack of supervision, availability of material and undisciplined expansion. It is recommended that cost cutting measures should be adopted at places where organization is losing its revenue. At the same time organizational structure should be flexible enough to respond to the changing circumstances especially in this area of subcontinent where law and order situation is worsening to war against terror. For future it is recommended that in-depth study is required relating to financial aspects of the organization including its dependence on central government for finances and decision making. Furthermore to operate the company profitability partnership with local government is advised and province should be given independence in generating its own electricity.
