Effect of the relation of prices on the substitution of cereal grain and potatoes in the pork production

The process of substitution of cereal grain and potatoes in the pork production is analysed on the basis of theoretical and empirical data. The substitution law makes that every farmer running rationally his farm tends at ensuring appropriate quantitative proportions between the manufactured agricultural products, which can be mutually substituted. These proportions depend significantly not as much on the absolute level, as on mutual relation of prices and unit costs between particular products
