Use of paclobutrazol and flurprimidol in pot cultivation of persian ranunculus (Ranunculus asiaticus L.)

The influence of paclobutrazol (Cultar) and flurprimidol (Topflor 015 SL) on the growth, quality and yield of flowers and bulbs of the Ranunculus asiaticus plants cultivated in pots of 10 cm in diameter in greenhouse was determined. The growth retardants were applied as a medium drench (paclobutrazol) and foliar spray (flurprimidol) in the phase of first generative bud developed. Optimal flower stem elongation control was obtained when paclobutrazol in concentrations of 1.0 mg/pot and flurprimidol 7.5 mg/l were used.
