The paper was aimed to present the results of investigations on fertilization and cropping systems of spring barley yielding on the basis of long-term field experiment. On average of the whole period of the experiment (1958-04) spring barley grown in crop rotation yielded similarly on FYM and on mineral (NPK) fertilization. In continous cropping of spring barley mineral fertilization (NPK) was more effective and increased grain yield to compare with FYM. In both cropping systems FYM was less effective in yield production than mineral fertilizer during the first years of the experiment. In the following years FYM caused higher increase of yield than the NPK fertilizing variants
