The numbers of combine harvesters in Poland, as related to the number of cereal producers and to area of the crops, are lower than in most of the EU countries. However, because of relatively low yields, Poland exceeds these countries in respect of the number of combine harvesters per 1000 t of produced grain. Poland left behind the EU countries in respect of purchase of new-built combines per 100 farms and per 100 combines in use. Thus, the difference in quality and modernity of combine harvesters between EU countries and Poland is increasing. The number of combines per 100 cereal producers grows along with the increase of crop production concentration
