The true dry rot fungus - Serpula lacrymans

Dry-rot is caused by the most dangerous fungus of the wood constructions in Europe. Serpula lacrymans is diffuse in the temperature climate zone, its optimal growing temperature is 20 deg C, timber humidity optimum - 30-40 %. The dry rot fungus uses timber, especially pine and fir as well as the timber materials - chipboards and particle boards, paper, wallpapers for nutrition. To avoid dry-rot timber has to be treated with preservatives. Article gives a slight insight in this procedure.
