Recent research on the biological efficacy of insecticide Actatra 25% WG was carried out in orchards to control the apple tree pests from 1999 to 2000. The aim of the experiments was to test the efficacy and doses of the product Actara to control apple pests and compare with the reference product and untreated control. During the experimental period the following main apple-trees pests were detected: apple suckers, leaf weevils, apple blossom wheevil, aphids, tortrix moth, apple sawflory and codling moth. Actara 25% WG showed a very good effect in the control of apple pests before and after flowering. The biologically effective dosages recommended for definite pests were determined. Compared with several other insecticides Actara is more effective in smaller doses and is more suitable for treatment.
