2002
Danilowska, A. (Warsaw Agricultural Univ. (Poland). Dept. of Economics and Economic Policy)
The aim of the paper is to analyse the changing agricultural credit market in Poland in transition period. During the nineties, different banks started conducting operations on agricultural credit market. The share of particular groups of banks in this market was changing. Commercial banks have become the severe competitors of cooperative banks. Analysis has showed that after 11 year of transition the cooperative banks had only about 50% share in this market. The farmers' debt was rising successively. This process indicated the growing role of credit for agricultural sector, but in 2000 the level of debt was much less than in 1980 yet. It is remarkable that more than 80% debt was due to preferential credit.
