[The water reservoirs and ponds: a teaching aid]

English. This teaching aid is devised for students of environment and water management, landscape architecture and planning specialities as an auxiliary material for furthering their study in the subjects of Planning of Rural Environment, Water Buildings and Melioration. It can be used also for students of other specialities, who have completed the subjects of environmental sciences and rural landscape creation. The main issues on the establishment of water reservoirs and ponds are discussed in the teaching aid. Classification of water reservoirs by location, type of use and constructive form is discussed. Geometrical and topographical characterisation of reservoir, changes of natural conditions after the establishment of water reservoirs and possible solutions of elimination of undesirable consequences is given an overview. A view on the necessary water reservoir establishment, the necessary main hydrotechnic buildings, its hydrologic and hydraulic etc. calculations and its use for establishment of little water reservoirs is given.

Mācību līdzeklis paredzēts vides un ūdenssaimniecības, ainavu arhitektūras un plānošanas specialitāšu studentiem kā palīgmateriāls Lauku vides plānošanas, ūdensbūves un Meliorācijas studiju priekšmetu paplašinātai apgūšanai. To var izmantot arī citu specialitāšu studenti, kas apgūst vides zinātņu un lauku ainavas veidošanas cikla priekšmetus. Mācību līdzeklī apskatīti galvenie jautājumi par ūdenskrātuvju un dīķu ierīkošanu. Sniegts ūdenstilpju iedalījums pēc atrašanās vietas, izmantošanas veida un konstruktīvā izveidojuma. Apskatīts krātuves ģeometriskais un topogrāfiskais raksturojums, dabisko apstākļu izmaiņas pēc ūdenskrātuves ierīkošanas un iespējamie risinājumi nevēlamo seko novēršanai. Dots ieskats par ūdenskrātuves veidošanai nepieciešamām galvenajām hidrotehniskajām būvēm to hidroloģiskiem, hidrauliskiem u.c. aprēķiniem un to pielietošanu nelielu ūdenstilpju ierīkošanai.
