Effect of vitamin K on the preclimacteric life of bananas

Vitamin K treatment shortened the green-life of bananas. No explanation for this effect is offered. It is suggested that the opposite effect reported by Beccari [see HcA 41, 2511] was due to a high level of anthracnose (Colletotrichum musae).
