Microbial infections remain serious diseases and their frequency continues to increase. It is therefore essential to find effective therapeutic agents with the least side effects. Chalcones, as derivatives of carbonyl compounds, have shown very interesting antimicrobial and pharmaceutical activities, because of their synthetic chemical structures.
