The seeds from soil samples of grassland were extracted by the sifted method and put under 1) a deferred rotation grazing system the last nine years; 2) continuous grazing during nine years; and 3) under a soil cultivated a year ago. The seed-bank came from organic matter of the soil surface up to 20 cm depth. 62% of Hirschfeldia incana seeds and 31% of Plagiobotrys procumbens was found in the soil cultivated a year ago. The botanical composition presented a 97% of Hirschfeldia incana. In the continuous grazing system the seed-bank presented 79% of Erodium spp, and 17% of Hipochoeris glabra, its botanical composition resulted in a 94% of Erodium spp. The grassland with deferred rotation grazing system presented a 48% of Erodium spp., 31% of Trifolium glomeratum, and a 20% of Medicago sp. in soil seed bank, its botanical composition was of 98% of Erodium spp. The differences of composition of the soil-seed bank under the different management methods had no relation with the botanical composition probably due to precipitation defficiency during 1990.
