The phytoplankton, Spirulina platensis (Nordst) Geitl, a member of the Cyanophyceae with high protein can be used as food for the larval shrimp, as a source of vegetablae protein. This study aims to detect salinity, culture medium and inoculum which are effective for population growth of Spirulina platensis (Nordst) Geitl. under laboratory conditions. The results showed that salinity of 30 permil with Conwy medium and inoculation of 750 trichome/ml which peaked after eight days an average density of 12.950 trichome/ml.
