Food products are packaged in cartons generally made from bent paper board that is printed, cooled, cut, and creased to size and shape needed. Cartons in turn are placed into containers made of corrugated fiberboard. Basically, paperboard and fiberboard are made of the same materials (cellulose fiber) but the finish determines the quality and surface. By understanding trade terminology, one can employ greater care in discussing packaging in the technical literature.
