Toxicities of ten insecticides, three acaricides and eight fungicides to Aphidoletes aphidimyza third instar larvae were tested by spray Potter's tower in the laboratory conditions (20 degrees C; 95 % air relative humidity; 18 hours photophase). The 21 pesticides in our studies were classified into three categories: A - harmless or slightly harmful (mortality 0 - 31 per cent); B - moderately harmful (mortality 31 - 50 per cent) and C - harmful (mortality more than 50 per cent). All acaricides (Mitac 20 EC, Neoron 500 EC, Omite 57 E) cause low mortality in gall midge, the same is valid for the fungicide Topsin M 70 WP and insecticide Applaud 25 WP. Carbamates - Fundazol 50 WP, Pirimor DP and pyrethroid Karate 5 EC are moderately harmful. The rest of pesticides tested in this study cause high mortality in larvae: organophosphorous compounds - Actellic 50 EC, Anthio 25, Bi-58; pyrethroids - Cymbush 10 kEC, Decis 2.5 EC, Ripcord 20 EC; carbamate Lannate 90 WP; Morestan 25 WP; fungicides contained copper, zinc, and aluminium - Aliette, Dithane M 45, Novozir MN 80, Ridomil Z 72 WP and Sandofan M 8. In greenhouse the program of combination of pesticides of the categories A and B with the gall midge is possible at corresponding increase of entomophages number. According to our results organophosphorous insecticides as well as most of pyrethroids and carbamates are absolutely unacceptable for combined use with A. aphidimyza.
