A survey of dystocia problems in dairy cattle reported to the A.I. station during 1964 to 1977 was carried out. The total of 157 cases included 132 cases at Nongpo, Ratchaburi, 15 cases at Nakornrajchasima and 10 cases at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University. The data showed that the incidence of dystocia in cows and heifers were 60.5% and 39.5%, respectively. The common type of dystocia was the fetal displacement which is 69.3% compared to the other reports of 44.5%. The crossbred dam of Native and Holsteinfreisian caused more incidence of dystocia than that of the other breeds. The treatment of dystocia mostly applied manual correction and traction.
