Using four types as materials, the results may be concluded as follows: (1) The karyotypes of four types are all the same, as 2n=4x=AABB=40. Among 20 pairs of homologous chromosomes one pair carries satellites as the B chromosome of the B genome and another pair of chromosomes is shortest in chromosome length as chromosomes of the A genome. (2) The morphological indices of chromosomes indicate that the chromosome length of four types of peanut varies from 5.7-15.1u (spanish type), 4.9-14.4u (Peruvian type), 5.30-14.7u (valencia type) and 4.5-12.1u (virginia type), but the smaller and the smallest chromosome pairs occupy mostly. (3) The karyotype analysis shows that the karyotypes of four types are different with each other, as Spanish type 2n=4x=17m+1sm (SAT)+2st, Peruvian type 2n=4x=17M+sm (1SAT)+1st, Valencia type 2n=4x=12m+7sm (1SAT)+1st, and Virginia type 2n=4x=16m+3sm (1SAT)+1st.
