A mathematical model for the population dynamics of Chenopodium album is presented. Plant development is described by density dependent phases. The seed bank in the soil has an age structure. The probabilities of survival of each cohort are dependent and follow a Weilbull distribution. Comparative simulations result in clear differences in the age structure between age dependent decline and decline by firm probabilities of survival (exponential). The age dependent decline is slower than the exponential one and results in a higher seed bank. Self regulation of the model is not affected.
